“Elephant,” releasing on all platforms on November 15, 2024, is a song I wrote on my mountain dulcimer after facing over a year of writer’s block following the pandemic. It encourages us to examine our personal and collective “elephant in the room”—those issues we avoid because we fear the changes they demand. This might be a bad habit, a toxic relationship, or on a broader level, the way we treat each other and our planet.

The song has a hopeful, uplifting feel, inspiring listeners to believe in the possibility of change. It draws on the idea that, like water, which seems to slip through our fingers, truth is a powerful force that can eventually carve through stone. “Elephant” suggests that this truth, waiting just beneath the surface, is bound to emerge, bringing light and transformation with it. Sonically it harkens a 70's pop driving radio song.
